DAVID FRANKLIN FASOLD GOT IT --
30 YEARS AGO :
ABOVE: The original 1985 Preliminary Survey map of the "Durupinar" site --
The ONLY map of the petrified subsurface footprint, representing the remains of Noah's Ark.
DAVID FRANKLIN FASOLD'S ON-SITE RESEARCH IN FAR EASTERN TURKIYE-- in fact, on the very border that Turkiye shares with Iran, near the summit of the Mountains of Urartu -- resulted in the historic first identification & subsequent confirmation, that this anomalous and otherwise presumable geological feature, could in fact be nothing other than the great Mothership of Mankind -- Noah's Ark.
Fasold, a former Coast Guard seaman, then captain in the Merchant Marine, took careful measurements of the the perimeter of the formation as it manifests "in situ" in a mud-flow at about 6000 ft elevation, [ BOW STEM ELEVATION: 6,245' ] under the parapet of the summit of Al Cudi (or Mt. Judi,) resulting in dimentional figures for length & width, as well as for the lofting of the formation's symmetrical sides. He complemented this data with a unique subsurface survey, using ground-penetrating radar coupled to a molecular frequency generator, obtaining -- most notabaly -- readings for iron (in the form of nodules) regularly dispersed both in 2-D or planar patterns, and in the thrid dimension, depth: all strongly indicating a man-made structure.
FASOLD'S FIRST & ORIGINAL SUBSURFACE RADAR SURVEYS were conducted over a number of weeks in the late summer of 1985, with the assistance of the local sheperds, and villagers of the nearby town of Dogubayazit, Agri Province, Turkiye. Fasold is shown BELOW, having marked a surface feature within the formation. BELOW, the survey was a great attraction to the many Kurdish boys of the area -- most of whom were pressed into service schlepping batteries, antennae and other equiopment over the rough terrain, to the site. WAY BELOW, Fasold enjoyed the special assistance of one local man, Dilaver Avci -- shown crouched, with the tape roller near his hand.
THESE PHOTOS OF FASOLD'S 1985 SURVEY illustrate one aspect of Fasold's method of mapping of subsurface iron & copper : after the entire surface within the formation had been cleared of loose stones, survey with ground-penetrating radar commenced, using a molecular frequency generator. Positive readings on the GPR unit were marked, usually with a stone, and lines were run between the nodes, using survey tape.
NOTE: the circular survey "stickers" in these photos -- half red, half white -- appear also on the 1985 survey map above.
Each of these photographs gives a Kodak "Instamatic" image of the location of a particular surface feature or subsurface node -- such a node being often at the intersection of a longitudinal and transverse line ...
In the long-gone 1980's -- before the advent GPS & geo-caching this was an effective method of preservering subsurface survey data relative to surface observations. There are approximately two dozen such site-survey photos, each one depicting a unique "node" and corresponding to a unique circular survey "sticker" on the map.
Meanwhile, below LEFT, the first returns: the SRI-3 SYSTEM (GSSI) unit shows the hard data: the signals generated by scanning at the surface with an Omnitron Molecular Frequency Discriminator were reflected by subsurface structure, and the "bounce-back" was digitally recorded and instantly displayed graphically on heat-sensitive paper, providing "pin-point" accurate measurements of distances between the positive signals, that were being marked manually by the team "topsides". This data and also indicated the depth of the subsurface "hits", and revealed other interference patterns that Fasold discussed in his book "The Ark of Noah" (Winwood, 1987). The date-stamp on the image below indicates the survey of June 24, 1986.
AT RIGHT, above, a portion of an article in which Fasold disclosed & discussed aspects of his methodology of "sounding" for subsurface readings, using a technique that could be compared to high-tech dowsing, using the human body as an antennae to amplify & transmit radio-waves. The image is from Fasold's "ARK-UPDATE NO. 12" from March-April, 1993.
ABOVE, AT LEFT, GEOLOGIST SALIH BAYRAKTUTAN OF THE ATTATURK UNIVERSITY, ERZURUM, TURKIYE -- participatd in Fasold's expeditions, and helped with advance planning and coordination with the Turkish Ministry of Culture, Turkish Customs, and the Turkish Army, which reliably provided military escorts into the treacherous border terrain.
AT RIGHT: THE SUCCESSFUIL TEAM POSES WITH THE GSSI UNIT, and the unprecedented readout, with parallel transverse lines indicating a subssurface structure. ....
The TURKISH GOVERNMENT, through the HIGH COMMISSION ON ANCIENT MONUMENTS, in collaboration with ATTATURK UNIVERSITY provided a substantial military escort to ensure the success of FASOLD'S 1995 OPERATIONS -- as they had for most of his work on the site.
WHY THIS EXTRAORDINARY TREATMENT.... WHEN NONE OF THE "OTHER" ARK-HUNTERS COULD EVEN GET A PERMIT TO CLIMB UP MT. ARARAT? EVEN IN GOOD WEATHER? THE ANSWER TO THAT QUESTION PROBABLY LIES SOMEWHERE WITHIN THE PAGES OF FASOLD'S TOP SECRET REPORT -- BU ARASTIRMA RAPORU -- WRITTEN IN TURKISH & FILED WITH THE HIGH COMMISSION THE SAME YEAR -- 1985 -- SHOWN HERE:
FASOLD'S GENIUS, was not just to dodge the frenzied enthusiasm & professional antagonism of "Biblical" Creationists, nor to successfully court the scientific cooperation of even the most skeptical critics -- such as Dr. Ian Plimer -- but, it was to unite these painstakingly acquired on-site radar readings with "superficial" dimensional measurements, to create the first -- and only -- scientific conceptual nautical modelling of this site, as representing the remaking of a gargantuan craft of precisely Biblical proportions -- a model that is as SEAWORTHY and FUNCTIONAL as it is ...."unprecedented." His readings and measurements were later confirmed by Seattle, WA., forensic & nautical engineer, SAM WINDSOR, of the engineering firm Bronson & Windsor. Windsor's conceptual reconstruction comports with Fasold's in all major respects. Below, are a couple of Windsor's drawings reflecting his professional reconstruction of Fasold's data. Most of Windsor's work, including the two articles from which these drawings come, is available online.

I ALMOST FORGOT.... There's MORE !!!
BUT FASOLD HAD DONE A MODEST AMOUNT OF PRELIMINARY RESEARCH LONG BEFORE HE EVER GOT TO TURKIYE .....
THUS, FOR THE TIME BEING,
YOU MAY HAVE TO SEE THE ARK.
USING ONLY YOUR MIND'S EYE.
HOW DID FASOLD ACTUALLY FIND THE ARK'S LOCATION ...
IN THE FIRST PLACE?
BUT WAIT !!!
AFTER ALL, THAT'S HOW FASOLD FOUND IT ....
OTHER SEARCHERS KNEW THE ARK HAD TO BE HERE -- ON MT. ARARAT ....
Shown here in Fasold's photo...
during the very warm summer of 1986
AND HERE'S ... ... A HINT !!!
